The Beers

The Beers only had 8 players at the games (even though 9 confirmed as of last night) but the Mad Dogs were nice enough to lend us a player so that we could field 9. We lost the first game, despite yet another solid outing by Andrew who gave up only 1 earned run. Final score was 2-1.

The Beers' bats came alive in the 2nd game. Their 8 runs were enough for first time starter MA to record his first complete game win. Defense was very solid for both games including 3 double plays, and nice work at 1st by Pete. In his first at bat, Adam was hit in the face by a pitch but walked it off and then promptly stole 2nd base (unlike Pete last year who was a baby and went to the hospital). Mike D went 3-4 with 4 RBI and Steve had a big RBI-Triple. The full box scores will be available soon.

None were conventional...

The first one, Adam caught a fly ball in center and the guy tried to tag. Big mistake.

The 2nd one, Nigel tagged the runner going to 2nd and threw to 1st for the force.

And the 3rd one was a line drive to left which Mike N caught and threw to 2nd for the easy force to end the game. The runner was stealing on the pitch so he didn't have time to retreat.

The shock tactics might work for a little while, but you need solid radio journalism to keep a long-term base audience.

Anyway to mike D and anyone else who reads this shit for the last few games i will continue to give my all to a statistically fucked up season. At least i accomplished my goal of getting better. Well, if you're calling it a motherf*cking season, then it's unsuccesful in more ways than just statistically. This season, and this team, was supposed to be about having fun from day 1.

If anyone isn't having fun, that's a problem and we should all do what we can to solve it. Let me know if there's anything any of us can do to make you enjoy the remainder of the season. And I'm totally serial..

Playoffs will be a nice goal for next year, for this year, it was, is, and will be all about playing the game we love simply for the love of the game. (wow, i should write movie trailers)...

Mel Gibson has cancelled his appearance due to entering rehab. I have also decided to stop exposing the private lives of the beers as Andrew has pointed out. If you have listened to the podcasts over the last few weeks you would know that I have revealed many personal things about people on the team. Like the member of the beers who had a sex change operation, which beer once stole a police car and who on the beers is constantly being investigated for making illegal social security cards. I apologize for this exposure and for the legal headaches they have caused.

Anyway, at this weeks game I will reveal which member of the beers is an illegal alien. Find out who when immigration comes to the game.

This season was successful for me because i joined the beers to improve and i dont care about stats, we gave games away. No one needs to change anything to help me. I will just not listen to mike n, and not say anything as ive been doing. I know mike d that you cant pick and choose people when you are starting up a team and you are gonna have some retards, and i expected that when joining a team at the beginning of a season. There are dislikeable people on every team and every where. I still have the right to dislike every one of them and be angry that miserable people exist, and are on the team im on which contributes to losing, and people not being interested/showing up. Im not asking you to change anything mike, youve done a good job so relax, this is not a complaint to you. Mike N has said the shit on his pod cast and i can say whatever i what on this shit. Would you rather i go to games pretend im happy (even if its just for a few hours) about the team and games when we throw them away, or say how i feel, the truth, and how other people probably feel?

If I am going to be censored then I will just go and sign a contract with sirius radio where I can say whatever I want. Don't think I won't. The podcast wasn't great since I had so many cancellations at the last minute and wasn't watching the baseball games. If you have been dying to know what I think of those people who sell candy on the subway, not for no basketball team or for no school but to put money in their pocket and keep them off the street....I got it covered

On a more serious note, under people's names are veteran, rookie, etc...Why is simon a hall of famer and me just a veteran while Steve and Andrew are different status but joined at the same time. Mike, before you go and censor me, this travesty needs to be rectified.

Adam, your bat was in my car. I turned it over to the property seizure people, it will be put up for auction next week. And I don't have the first clue as to what anyone is arguing about. I worry about my posts and only read the first 12 words of anyone elses. I have a short attention span.

Another comment about the game that I forgot to mention is that we got out of a bases-loaded, 0 out jam. I think Adam's catch and assist to home started it. We looked real good that 2nd game. Let's take a couple games this weekend from the Midnight Express!
